BUFFALO ROCK
REVIEWS
ExcellentBased on 36 reviewsVerifiedbrianhT4052EN2023-10-10Bush Break What a beautiful, secluded camp, friendly staff, good food, could’ve stayed longer. Felt though that the game viewing on this side of the park isn’t as good as the east side, also booking and check in process and confirmation could be better.Verifiedmvdb19902023-08-28Fantastic stay, highly recommended! We spent 3 nights in Buffalo Rock. It was truly a fantastic experience. We were received very hospitably with a drink and warm wipes to wash our hands. The tent is very luxurious, with nice beds, a good shower and toilet. We were in the winter period so the nights could be cold. There are plenty of blankets in the tent and you get a hot water bottle to take to bed every night. The food is very good. The employees are incredibly friendly and want to help you with everything. They really do their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible (and they succeeded). They clearly have experience and respect for nature and animals. It's special to be part of that. The security guard (who walks to your tent in the dark) took us on a bush walk. They really make time for you. Highly recommended! Oh and the place: fantastic of course, in the park, the sunrise is very special to see there.VerifiedjonesVA2023-07-04A great spot right in the park A gem of a place right in the park. If you want to see Krueger, this place is great. Rustic but with very nice touches and a fantastic staff. I visited in the winter, so it was cold at night, but the beds had fantastic duvets, and the staff gave us a hot water bottles to take to bed at night. We had tasty and filling food at every meal. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience Krueger in a natural way but appreciates a few thoughtful touches.Verifiedrbbertsch2023-05-07Buffalo Rock Lodge Stayed three nights with safaris. We were with Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT). Outstanding lodge! Day safaris were excellent and our Safari guide “Sunny Boy” made the extra efforts to find animals. He has an Eagle eye!VerifiedHelen_Newport2022-11-21Fabulous experience All I can say is WOW!!!!!. What an experience. Sleeping inside the Kruger National Park in a tent. Ok, so it was more glamping than camping but still an experience not to be missed. We were even joined by an elephant in the morning. The food was superb and plentyfull. Lunch on the first day was Bolognese which I decided not to have opting for a salad instead and the boss was straight over checking that I wasn't vegetarian. I'm not but he was prepared to make me something else if I wanted it. Being escorted to the tent by an armed ranger added to the excitement. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.Verifiedrtpana2022-06-29BRC aims to please The BRC is a rustic 12 cabin tented camp in Kruger Park by the Numbi gate. Hubby and I grew up in NYC and we are newbies to this kind of experience. The staff was amazing and the food plentiful and tasty. The tents were cozy with the super-comfortable bed dominating the space. The bathroom was outside but the water was piping hot. We were there during an unusually cold and wet June so not having heat was challenging. Getting out of the “bush-baby” (flanneled covered hot water bottle) warmed bed in the frigid morning was difficult. Our safaris led by Zona of Echo Travels were exceptional and productive.VerifiedLiana C2022-06-03BIG 5 spotted I was there with OAT (Oversees Adventure Travel. What an introduction to the African bush. So AMAZING! the entire staff was hospitable and exceptionally friendly. Chef even made special dishes for me (due to sensitivity to cow dairy). Sonnyboy was so informative and enjoyable, on every Safari drive. We were fortunate enough to view behavior not seen regularly (two leopards with a waterbuck kill, in a tree). on the last night, something happened to my electricity, in my tent. The general manager didn't hesitate to get it resolved. Unfortunately, it was at the cost of 2 other tents loosing their power and not able to be restored, that night (one being my mother). He even contacted an electrician to come out, at 7pm. Thank you for being part of an unforgettable trip. Sleep quality was slight lower, only due to 1st nights in Africa, animal noises, and a train <.5 miles away. Ear plugs worked wonders! VerifiedJ60bud2019-11-01Incredible! We enjoyed the tented Safari as part of our tour of South Africa. What an amazing experience. The day started with the wonderful Bush Walk with Nick and Clayton which was absolutely brilliant and so informative. Thank you both! We have a whole new respect for termites! After a lovely breakfast we were transferred to the Camp itself and we were absolutely delighted with the set up. We were expecting something a lot less comfortable and couldn’t believe how beautifully the tents were dressed. The bathroom was interesting (!) with lovely products provided that were also anti mozzie! Relaxing on the comfortable decked area with our friends was fantastic, my husband enjoyed the plunge pool. and we were thrilled when some giraffe & impala decided to join us. Lunch (as with breakfast & dinner) was delicious, and we were impressed with the cleanliness and quality and ,most of all, the fantastic service we experienced from all at the camp but especially Ewan. The Sunset Sundowner drive with Nick was spectacular and we were lucky enough to see yet more wildlife before watching the sun go down and enjoying the stunning night sky with a glass or two of something special. Dinner around the campfire was fun, and we all went to our tents feeling we had shared a wonderful experience. Everyone slept very well, and we awoke to the sight of two bull elephants just outside our camp. That was thrilling! On the journey back to the main lodge we were also treated to a very rare sighting of a wild dog just to make our visit complete. This was a fantastic experience - not to be missed!VerifiedSukiBug2019-09-30Amazing Experience An amazing experience. Firstly, had a bush walk with Nico which my husband said was the highlight of his holiday. Nico was so informative and enthusiastic. Who knew dung could be so interesting. My highlight was the evening safari where we visited a dam where the sun was setting and hippos were relaxing in the water. Also, was surprised to see a rabbit which I did not expect to see in Kruger. We spent a lovely afternoon relaxing by the pool with our fellow travellers and the host, Greg. Returned from the evening safari to a lovely meal.
